Ah, Bait! I have always loved to fish, whether it be in a video game or whether it be in real life-- there is just something about the calm tranquility of casting your line and waiting for the inevitable.

I found this game fairly quickly after getting the Oculus Go and like Dead And Buried, this game is absolutely free although they do offer you an extra location to fish at for a small fee. I, myself, have not purchased the new location so I'm not going to attempt to review it but rather the core game itself.

A brief glimpse of the story:

You work for an aquarium and your boss has sent you to snag a legendary fish called the "Prehistoric Perch". There are several obstacles in your way but nothing too challenging and nothing that takes the fun out of the experience.

On your road to catching the Prehistoric Perch, you'll meet a few odd balls, you'll fish at fun and exciting locations, and you'll catch some of the craziest fish you'll ever see in your life. Tangerine Tang (A fish that looks like a Tangerine) and Alligator Perch (you guessed it, a fish that looks like an alligator) are two such fish.

Fishing itself takes little getting used to. You'll see silhouettes of fish in the water, you hold down the trigger of the Oculus Go controller and make a casting motion with your hands, releasing the trigger at the end of the cast. A fish will find your bait, start nibbling before fully grabbing it. You reel the fish in with the trigger button, but be careful! A little bar appears where the fish is and a meter goes from green (on the left) to red (on the right). If you don't let up when it starts going red, the fish will snap your line.

Is this the greatest game in the world? No, of course not. Is this worth downloading? Absolutely. It's free but even if it wasn't, this game would be worth adding to your library. The soothing sounds, the fluid motion of game play and the fact that you actually feel as if you are at the fishing locations make this a game that you'll be returning to again and again.

                                                                    VR Karts Sprint

Okay, let me start off by saying that this is my first major purchase on the Oculus Go and by major purchase, I mean the purchase of a game that cost more than two dollars. The Oculus Go has a wide selection of games and they frequently hold sales that let you buy top games at a discounted rate so one of the good things about going with the Oculus Go is that you can build your game collection up for very little money.

With that being said, paying $7.99 for a game isn't horrible either since many of the console games that you find now days cost a minimum of $20.00 and let's face it at that price, the game is at least three years old if you are lucky.

I grew up playing the Mario Kart series on Nintendo and was an avid fan for many, many years. So, checking out this title really did seem like a no brainer and I'm happy to say that I have not regretted my decision one bit.

The game has a very cartoon like feel to it and the controls take a little getting used to unless you are using a gamepad but the rest of the gameplay mirrors playing a Mario Kart game.

You can either race against the clock or others whether it's real people or AI characters. During the race, you'll find sections of the course where you can run over a "pick up" and get either a speed boost or a weapon to help you knock your opponents back a position or two.

I cannot say anything bad about VR Karts Sprint. It is a trip down memory lane in some ways and then a futuristic thrill ride in others. If you don't really want to fork over $7.99 on this game, you can wait until it goes on sale again and pick it up for three or four bucks but you really won't be disappointed if you DO pay the full price. It is everything you could ask for in a Go Kart racing game.

Dead and Buried

This review is for the game Dead and Buried, which is free on the Oculus Store.

Dead and Buried is a zombie shooter set in the Old West. While the graphics can be considered cartoony, do not let that stop you from enjoying this amazing free game that will put your gaming skills to the test.

Every round, a new crop of zombies will come at you. They will come from your left, your right, and dead center so you don't have to worry about them coming from behind you.

As the round number gets hire, the game will start throwing you curveballs such as red colored zombies that move much quicker and are much more lethal.

And then there are the snipers. There are two versions of snipers, one is a rather quick version which do moderate damage if they should get a shot off on you. The red snipers are much slower but they really pack a punch so if you don't take them down quickly, you won't last long.

There are a few other game modes, including an online multiplayer mode where you face off against people from across the world, testing your dueling skills out.

The way I see it, I've paid for games that were no where near as good as this game is and have been very disappointed. For free, the only thing you have to lose is time. I highly recommend you check this title out.

This is my first blog entry-- so I figure I'll tell you what you can expect from this blog.

This is a blog for reviews, recommendations, and news about the Oculus Go. I will not be covering the Oculus Rift nor the Oculus Quest. This just for people who are either sticking with the Oculus Go or are thinking about making the plunge into the world of Virtual Reality and aren't willing to pay an enormous price tag for one of the higher units.

I will be posting a few screen shots with each game review and I will be as blunt and truthful as I can when it comes to my overall reactions to the games, apps, and hardware.

I hope you enjoy this blog and I look forward to keeping it updated as often as I can.
